On Friday 4 September, the Donor Tissue Bank of Victoria will be proudly supporting Jersey Day.
Jersey Day is inspired by the story of Nathan Gremmo, a thirteen year old boy who was critically injured in an accident in May 2015 and saved lives through the generous act of organ and tissue donation
Nathan’s family chose to give the gift of life in honour of Nathan’s generous personality – and have established Jersey Day to encourage others to become organ and tissue donors. The aim of Jersey Day is for you to wear your favourite jersey to work or school in support of donation.
It is not a fund raising activity; it is simply to raise awareness and to help start the donation conversation with friends and family.
The DTBV and the Organ and Tissue Authority encourages everyone to get behind this initiative to show support for organ and tissue donation. We are asking our employees to wear their favourite team jersey and to ‘have the chat that saves lives’. To get involved, check out the Jersey Day website.
